Project Updates
The Kings Local School District Board of Education approved the Master Facility Plan developed by the Community Advisory Team in December 2023.
Here is a summary of the key points from the recent meeting and decisions made:

The plan addresses current capacity challenges and optimizes educational facility usage.

The plan calls for building a new Kings High School and transitioning our three elementary schools (J.F. Burns, Kings Mills, South Lebanon) to K-3 schools.

Columbia Intermediate School will be expanded to house 4th-5th graders.

The current Kings High School will become Kings Junior High for grades 6-8.

The Board approved putting a $142 million bond issue before voters on the March 19, 2024 ballot to fund construction.

The ballot measure will be for 5.971 mills, equaling $209 per $100K home value.
